Online Videos for Your Website

The average person looks at a website for ten seconds or less before either staying on the page or looking for something different. That means you only have ten seconds to make a good first impression on your customers. Whether you offer a service like rodent removal, or you sell specific products like clothing, you must make your website pop from the moment a potential customer lands on the site. Adding online videos is just one way to get customers interested in what you offer and adding those videos is a quick form of web marketing.

The world of online marketing is rapidly changing and what worked a few years ago does not work as effectively today. Customers once wanted simple sites with basic graphics and photographs. Customers then changed and needed more stimulation from the sites. That does not mean you should load your page with busy images, but you should offer some information. Even blogs and basic websites now provide some videos for customers and internet searchers because the videos are entertaining and enjoyable. The videos give your potential customers an inside look at your small business.

For example, a rodent removal company might offer videos that show the destruction caused by rodents. The videos show cables that raccoons chewed through, an electric system ruined by squirrels, and mice chewing through insulation. The videos show customers the potential destruction they face by leaving the problem untreated. The same idea also works for products that you sell. If you sell toys, post videos that show the toys in action, instead of photographs that do little for the imagination. When it comes to clothing, post videos that show people out on the town in the outfits and show the diversity of different clothing pieces. Business coaching experts recommend videos for smaller businesses because those videos let you compete with the larger sellers.

Some business mentoring professionals are also seeing the benefits of funny or humorous videos. Also known as memes, the internet is full of video memes, such as Rebecca Black. Black released a video for her song “Friday” online and saw the video spread to millions of users in the first day alone. When someone finds a video they find interesting or entertaining, they spread the video to others and becomes viral. Before long, your video and your company name have reached millions of potential customers. All it takes is posting one great video to your small business site.
