Promotional Tools for Small Businesses

promotional tools small businessOne of the best ways to market your small business to a large number of people is with the right promotional tools. Promotional tools can be toys or other items that you give away to customers. Whether you have an unlimited promotional budget, or you have only a little money available, you can still find tools that work for your company. Many types of businesses use promotional items, including doctors, medical companies, cleaning services, dog washing businesses, and clothing stores. You can find a wide range of products that include the name of your small business on the front or side. If you have a logo designed for your company, you can even include that logo on the tools.

The most basic promotional tools would be pens and pencils. The pens and pencils only cost a few cents for each item, but as you opt for better pieces, you have a higher price. A mechanical pencil, for example, costs more than an ordinary lead pencil and a refillable pen is more expensive than a ballpoint pen. Small notepads, sticky notes, and to-do lists are other less expensive items. Retractable pens, magnets, tape measures, and stress balls typically cost less than $1 to purchase and that includes the printing of your information on each item.

Use the promotional items for marketing by picking items that relate to your company. If you run a business that books travel and trips for customers, consider a beach bag or canvas bag. Give the bag to customers that book a vacation with you and they will never forget your services. If you offer computer repair, then opt for a mouse pad, computer bag, or computer mouse. Digital cameras, USB devices, and card readers are also available as promotional items. One way to entice customers is by offering multiple types of toys and items. The amount of money a customer spends determines the level of their free gift.

In addition to using promotional items as free gifts with purchase, business coaching experts suggest passing the items out as free gifts to potential customers. Whenever someone leaves your business, give them a small item on their way out the door. A refrigerator magnet or a small notepad keeps your business name on the customer’s mind. The next time she needs a computer repair, shirt, dog grooming, or anything else your company might offer, that item appears in her subconscious and reminds her of what you offer.
