How to Dress to Impress

When you speak to a potential client over the phone your voice and attitude is what is going to captivate them and get them to agree to meet you. The idea they have of you comes from that phone call which is why it is critical to “dress to impress” and put your best foot forward.  Here are some tips on your how to dress and make your face to face impression with a potential client last and get you the sale:

DRESS TO IMPRESS: Don’t take chances with overly tight clothing, revealing cloth ing or baggy clothing. Dress appropriately for the client. You wouldn’t go to a golf course in a rugby shirt would you? It’s not proper clothing etiquette. Same holds true for business consultants you need to dress to impress the clientele.

They shouldn’t be overly worn, scuffed, have holes, or noticeable damage. You are the measuring stick that a potential client has to evaluate your company every detail is important.

BE POLISHED: Never ever go to a meeting without your shirt and pants pressed. It is important that you show your client that you are meticulous and pay attention to detail. This will show your potential client the level of dedication that you will have when it comes to servicing their needs.

PERSONAL HYGIENE: All aspects of your personal hygiene should be beyond stellar. This means your hair cut and styled or combed, your nails trimmed and free from dirt, and your teeth brushed. It is important to wear deodorant that is going to last. When in a room with potential clients you can often experience temperature rises from nerves causing you to sweat. Deodorant will keep you fresh and hide those nerves. Perfume and cologne are great but be careful you don’t want to overdo it.
